The Golf Challenge 2012 is scheduled for April 28 at Shawnee Golf Course located in Louisville, Kentucky. Please join us in our fight against breast cancer.
This year will be our 18th golf outing and ninth as a fund raising event. It was created for the sole purpose of spending a day golfing with friends. As years passed and our membership increased, we decided to use this opportunity to raise money for charity. The charity we selected was The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. As two of our founding members wives are breast cancer survivors, the choice was obvious.
Our event has grown exponentially not only in the amount of support we have received but in the donations we have been able to raise. In our initial year as a charity event, we raised $1,000 that went directly to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. In 2011, we raised $26,879.00 bringing our total contributions to $104,179.00 in pursuit of the cure. With your help, we know we can eclipse this mark in 2012.
We owe our success to a number of people and organizations. We are indebted to our participants and sincerely appreciate the time they spend with us on the weekend before The Kentucky Derby. In addition, our organization is entirely staffed with volunteers whose input and assistance has been invaluable. Another level of contributors is sponsors and benefactors. Their generosity has been tremendous and without whom none of our accomplishments would have been possible.
Four levels of sponsorships are offered for individuals or companies. You can become a Friend of Breast Cancer Research for minimum of $100. Tee Box Sponsorships are available for $200, Corporate Sponsor level is $500, and our highest level of sponsorship is the Tournament Sponsor for a minimum of $1000.
All sponsors are listed on our distributed literature and acknowledged on our website. Friends are listed on the Friends of The Golf Challenge sign displayed at the registration tent. Tee Box Sponsors, Corporate Sponsors and Tournament Sponsors also receive signs located on a tee box acknowledging their support. In addition, Corporate Sponsors signs are displayed at the registration tent and Tournament Sponsors are recognized with a banner at registration. 100% of sponsorship fees go directly to help in finding a cure, promoting education and targeting prevention of this disease which has affected so many of our family and friends.
Many have chosen to become both sponsors and benefactors. Benefactors are those that donate gifts and prizes for our auction and raffles. The auction and raffles have become a major source of proceeds for our charity and have been instrumental in our success.
Our goal is a simple one. Raise that one dollar that makes the difference and leads to a cure just one day sooner. How many lives would just one day sooner touch? How many lives would just one day sooner save? That’s all we ask, just one day sooner…
